But if India’s bowlers thought that this was the beginning of a successful day for them, they were wrong.Enter Taylor who joined Newton in a second-wicket stand of 155 which took England into the lead and beyond. The innings gave Newton a timely boost; it was her first half-century in seven innings and only her third fifty in Tests. It was also Taylor’s first century since 2003.Taylor and Caroline Atkins had put on an unbeaten stand of 70 by the close, to leave England in good shape ahead of tomorrow’s final day.
